Books open for spring!

Hey y’all, Ellie here! Just wanted to send out a quick reminder that my books are opening today at 10AM EST, and will be open until this Friday, 3/1 for submissions.

Here is a list of things I’d especially like to tattoo this session…

  • Goblins and fairies doing bad kid stuff such as drinking, breaking things, dancing or generally having fun
  • Animals with armor, weapons or banners (could also be doing bad kid stuff)
  • Dragons being evil, hoarding things etc. – I especially like red or green dragons
  • Dwarves, doing anything really, holding weapons etc.
  • A drow girlhead
  • Drow full body
  • Skaven
  • Gloomspite Gits
  • Other Warhammer/Oldhammer inspired stuff
  • Kobolds
  • Baby owlbear, ala BG3
  • MTG stuff – my own version of a classic card or a card you love
  • Anything Elden, especially Blaidd
  • Anything Dark Crystal or Labyrinth or other Froud inspired stuff
  • Blue and green fairies, specifically, rather than human skintones
  • Demons, imps, devils, satyrs, and other diabolic critters

Please feel free to submit other ideas as well, I just wanted to create a list of stuff I’m definitely interested in right now to guide you, but there are many other things I’d be interested in working on. Submissions will close March 1st and after that we will go through and pick the tattoos I’ll work on this session. Please allow 3 or 4 weeks for Jonah, my husband, who does all of my booking, to slowly go through accepted submissions and book the appointments. If you don’t hear back about your submission it just means we couldn’t fit you in this time, but try again next session for sure! I can only fit a limited number of folks each booking session, but you all submit such awesome ideas every time I wish I could do them all. Thank you SO much for your ongoing support and patience, it means a lot to me!!!

Studio two three holiday market

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop on to remind you to swing over to the Studio Two Three Holiday Market at their brand new building from Nov 25th to Dec 24th. I have a table full of prints for sale, both large and small – and copies of the Ekphrastic Beasts book (an artist-created TTRPG compendium).

This is our first Winter Market in our new building and we are going all out. This year’s market features artwork, clothing, housewares and jewelry from over one hundred local artists. So c’mon down and get something for everyone on your list – we triple dog dare ya!

Fall 2023 booking info!

Hi friends! Just popping on to let everyone know that my books are opening again on September 18th! 

This session I’m going to be focusing on smaller sized projects, hand sized or slightly larger, and picking only a few larger projects like sleeves.

As per usual I’d like to do goblins, fairies, imps, dragons, and Red Wall style creatures. I’d also like to do some more Elden and Soulsborne tattoos, as well as Warhammer stuff like Skavens and Gloomspite Gits. 

Since I’m working through the whole Black Company series right now I’d also love to do some of the Taken- especially Soulcatcher!

Also always down for anything Michael Moorcock – Elric or Corum especially. And Dark Crystal or Labyrinth as well! And obviously always love doing my own versions of Magic the Gathering cards! I’m also open to things that aren’t listed here. 

I can only pick a few projects per session, so please do not think I hate your idea if I don’t get to it this time. Each booking session I get so many awesome ideas and I wish I could do them all! That said, the best way to ensure you get in is by keeping your idea straight forward – for example I LOVE requests that are like “I’d like a green fairy holding an axe”. This gives me freedom to design it the way I want, but also gives me a little structure to work with. 

On September 18th I will post a link on my Instagram (@Elliejoliv) to a form potential clients can fill out.

books open for summer!

Hey everyone, this is Jonah – I help Ellie with booking. Ellie is now opening her books for Summer 2023.

Ellie is currently focusing on full color fantasy tattoos that include (but are not limited to) goblins getting drunk, fairies, rats with medieval weapons, knights, demons, dragons, monsters, warriors, and more. She loves Lord of the Rings, Dark Souls, Labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro, older Magic The Gathering, Warhammer (age of sigmar) and turn of the century illustration. Tattoo designs related to those topics will get preference.

Submissions will be open April 17th – 19th, after that Ellie will go through and pick which ones she’s able to fit into this booking session. Please allow 3 or 4 weeks for me to slowly go through accepted submissions and book the appointments. If you don’t hear back about your submission I apologize we couldn’t get you in. If we can’t fit you in this summer hopefully we can get you in next time!

Ellie hails from the icy tundra of Boston, Massachusetts. After a brief stint at the Maryland Institute College of Art she moved home where she got her BFA at the Mass. College of Art and Design. After 10 years of freelance illustration Ellie is now tattooing at Unkindness Art in Richmond, VA, where she now lives with her husband and her dogs.
